Comments: According to ancient Greek myth, Andromeda was a beautiful maiden who, to save her country, was sacrificed by being chained to a rock on the seashore to await destruction by a sea monster. The hero Perseus passed by, having just slain another monster, Medusa, and falling in love with Andromeda, killed the sea monster and received her hand in marriage.
