Comments: In the mid 1980's Au made a series of "Lipton Tea" pots. She was working with thin slabs of under-fired porcelain- clay so thin that it needed to be supported by paper cloth until it stiffened. This work has the supple qualities of folded cloth and texture of handmade paper. Au may be identified with a number of potters who were intrigued with the concept of building a 3-dimensional pot from a 2-dimensional pattern.
